A twelve (12) session course
No class on 3/27
Learn the art of classical figure and portrait drawing using toned paper, white chalk and charcoal. Skills in drawing are best learned by working from casts and living models. Class members will learn how to render the effects of light and shadow to create a sense of volume, producing the illusion of the figure in an environment. The goal is to encourage a sensitive approach to handling a wide range of values, in tandem with a variety of lines and edges to build a drawing vocabulary that communicates your visual ideas and ideals. The class will include demonstrations, discussions of masterworks, and thoughtful feedback on work. The drawing course will be a valuable resource for students of any age and ability level.
Traditional drawing materials will be used.
Tuition includes model fees.
