Addressing the Figure
w/Anne Graham
A six (6) session course
This Course is designed to help you develop the skills needed to paint a portrait and achieve a likeness of your subject, working either in a traditional or contemporary style. Focus will be on observation, composition, and color with an emphasis on skin tones as well as learning to translate the various planes of color and light that are so important in painting the figure.
Pastel or Oil
Tuition includes model fees.

STUDENTS WORKING IN OIL
BRUSHES:
Filbert: size 12/6/2 and or Flat: 10/6/2
Any favorite brushes suitable for oil paint
PAINT: (I recommend either Winsor Newton artist quality or Gamblin)
Titanium white
Cadmium yellow pale/light
Cadmium red
Alizarin crimson
Transparent Earth Orange
Yellow Ochre light or medium
Ultramarine blue
Dioxazine Purple
Raw umber
Pre-stretched and primed canvas, or primed board.
Glass or disposable palette
2 x palette knives
Gamsol or other odorless solvent
Painting medium or refined linseed oil (optional)
Paint well or jar for solvent
Paper towels
