Kickstart your autumn painting experience with this two-day Plein Air workshop!
This workshop will provide students the fundamentals for painting vibrant landscapes on location. We will focus on selecting and simplifying compositional elements and design, since a sound underlying structure is key to a successful painting. Following the demo, students will have plenty of time to work on their own paintings, with lots of individual attention.

We will be meeting 10-4pm at Ardrossan farm, off Darby-Paoli Road (between Newtown and Godfrey Roads). We are so lucky to get to paint at this local gem.
Please enter from Darby Paoli Road, where the large barn is (hopefully I can get a street address for you tomorrow from the art center). Drive up the short driveway, past the sheds on the right and park close to the grass, so farm trucks can get by easily.
Pack a lunch, drinking water, and dress in layers.
In case of rain, an indoor space will be provided.
I suggest that you bring a number of small canvases so you can do several studies. A sketchpad and Sharpie are very useful.
