Instruction in drawing and painting designed to increase visual awareness of light, shadow and form in order to give the illusion of depth. The first few weeks will be drawing only, with an emphasis on open, tonal (charcoal) drawing. We will also work from reproductions of paintings by artists throughout history, to learn what the artist did to achieve the result, observing composition and technique. Please bring in still-life objects to work from.
This is a 9-week, 2 hour Saturday class.
