Meditations on Small Objects features work by six prominent regional artists. Although the six artists work in a variety of styles and media, the unifying theme in all of these works is the love that the artists have for small objects. Some of the artists are attracted to tiny objects in nature such as seeds, shells, leaves, eggs, and stones. Some are more attracted to such small, man-made objects as buttons, paper clips, postage stamps, light bulbs, and keys. Each artist has his or her own unique way of expressing reverence for the dignity and beauty of small, insignificant objects.
“To see a world in a grain of sand and a Heaven in a wildflower.” – William Blake
