Instructor
Abby Ober
Abby Ober is a fine art painter, art instructor, and graphic designer.
After studying fine art at Rollins College (FL), she furthered her study in graphic design at the Corcoran College of Art in Washington DC. She designed large decorative canvas floor coverings for private collectors while spending 10 years in advertising design. When she moved to the Philadelphia area, she returned to her love of painting, studying with various recognized artists at the Wayne Art Center and competing twice in Wayne’s Plein Air Festival. She is dedicated to painting simple still lifes, quiet landscapes, and home portraits, capturing the distinctive light and pattern of color that surrounds each subject. Abby is inspired by such artists as Matisse, Hopper, and Fairfield Porter; but is mostly inspired by the dynamics of the creative process and the challenge of interpreting a scene.
